PRINCE ALBERT — Prince Albert police have charged a 46-year-old man with aggravated assault following a stabbing in the Cornerstone district Wednesday afternoon.
At about 4:20 p.m. on Feb. 25, officers were dispatched to dispatched to a business in the 800 block of 15th Street East for a report of a male who had been stabbed.
Responding officers located a man with serious injuries consistent with a stabbing. He was taken to Victoria Hospital by Parkland Ambulance.
Through their investigation, officers were able to get a description of the suspect and began patrolling the surrounding area. Shortly after, a man matching the suspect description was located and arrested without further incident. A search of the man when he was arrested, resulted in police locating a box cutter knife.
The 46-year-old man has been charged with aggravated assault and is scheduled to make his first appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court Thursday morning.
