Windy enough for you?
That’s the question many of us will probably hear once we get to to work today thanks to a blowing snow advisory issued by Environment Canada. Meteorologists have issued the advisory for the Regina, Humboldt, Yorkton, Melville, Weyburn, Estevan, and Carnduff areas as wind will be whipping snow up causing visibility issues in open areas.
It’s believed visibility could be near zero at times today, however conditions are expected to improve later this afternoon and in to tonight. Wind speeds will vary in many areas but most can expect the wind from the northwest 20-40km/h with gusts as high as 65km/h.
Southwest Saskatchewan will also see adverse weather conditions due to a snowfall warning today. Cypress Hills and Frontier areas of the province could see 15-20cm of snow, with the heaviest amounts occurring Friday night.
According to Precision Weather, temperatures are expected to drop to about -16 as the day progresses. Tonight will be cloudy with a low of -19, snow possible on Saturday with a high of -10, and for the first day of March this Sunday, temperatures begin to warm up with a high of -4 projected.
