SASKATCHEWAN — Jersey Mike’s Subs is kicking off its 16th Annual Month of Giving this March, inviting customers across Canada to support local charities with every order. Over the last decade and a half, what started as a grassroots fundraiser has grown into one of the country’s most impactful community giving campaigns, raising millions for causes that help children, fight hunger, and support families.
The campaign runs throughout March at 21 Jersey Mike’s locations in Canada operated by Redberry Restaurants, including four in Saskatchewan, two in Regina, one in Saskatoon, and one in Prince Albert, as well as locations in Ontario and Alberta. Patrons can round up their purchase to the nearest dollar or donate when placing an order in-store, online, or through the app, making everyday meals a chance to give back.
A Day That Means Everything
Month of Giving builds toward the biggest day of the year for the sandwich chain. Day of Giving falls on Wednesday, March 25, when 100 per cent of all sales from every participating location will go directly to seven local charities. That includes orders placed in person, online, or via the app. Jersey Mike’s crew members often arrive before dawn to prepare for the rush on Day of Giving, a community tradition that draws long lines and generous crowds.
“We welcome everyone into Jersey Mike’s Subs throughout the month of March, and especially on Day of Giving when 100 percent of sales goes to help seven local charities across Canada,” said Ken Otto, CEO of Redberry. “As we continue to grow now with 21 Jersey Mike’s locations in Canada, we can make an even greater impact on the local communities we serve through fundraisers like Month of Giving.”
Helping Kids and Communities
This year’s charity partners reflect a broad focus on children’s health, hunger relief, and family support. They include Make-A-Wish Canada, Child Hunger Brantford, Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington, Owen Sound Hunger and Relief Effort, Youth Haven, Food 4 Kids Hamilton, and Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation.
Make-A-Wish Canada’s leaders say the partnership makes a real difference for children facing serious health challenges across the country.
“Partnering with Jersey Mike’s Month of Giving in Canada continues to be an incredible honour for us,” said Meaghan Stovel McKnight, CEO of Make-A-Wish Canada. “This initiative is a powerful reminder of Jersey Mike’s unwavering commitment to making a positive impact and helping us work towards our goal of granting every eligible child’s wish, giving them the strength they need to face the challenges of critical illness.”
A Tradition That Grows Every Year
Across North America, Jersey Mike’s has scaled its Month of Giving into a major philanthropic force. In 2025 alone, more than 3,000 locations raised over 30 million dollars for more than 200 local charities, bringing the total raised since the campaign began in 2011 to more than 143 million dollars.
In Canada, last year’s fundraising efforts from Redberry-operated locations in Ontario raised approximately 100,000 dollars for local charities, including nearly 70,000 dollars for Make-A-Wish Canada and contributions to hunger relief groups. With continued expansion planned, including new locations across Western Canada, supporters expect this year’s totals to grow even larger.
Why It Matters
Month of Giving is more than just numbers. For charities like Make-A-Wish Canada and Food 4 Kids Hamilton, every dollar raised translates into meals served, wishes granted, and programs funded. Thousands of children and families rely on this support each year.
The tradition has become deeply woven into the Jersey Mike’s identity, reflecting a long-standing company mission of giving back. Since its founding in 1956, the sandwich chain has emphasized community impact alongside its signature fresh-sliced, made-to-order subs.
How You Can Get Involved
Customers across Saskatchewan and beyond can participate by placing an order during March, rounding up at purchase, or contributing extra at the register or in the app. On March 25, every bite you take becomes a gift back to the community.
There are four locations across Saskatchewan. Two in Regina, one in Saskatoon, and one in Prince Albert.
Month of Giving proves that even something as everyday as a sandwich can become a source of hope, one sub, one donation, and one charity at a time.
