The Ag Transport Coalition says week 29 saw a notable decline in system performance, with CN and CPKC Rail combined, supplying 68% of hopper cars ordered, down from 78% in week 28.
This represents the worst performance seen thus far this year.
System performance remains below the 90% performance threshold for a fifth straight week, and below the 80% threshold for a fourth consecutive week.
In supplying 86% of cars ordered by shippers in week 29, CN saw performance decline modestly from the 88% order fulfillment performance seen in week 28.
CN performance remains below the 90% threshold for a fifth straight week and for the sixth time in the last seven weeks.
Meanwhile, in supplying 52% of shipper orders, CPKC saw performance decline for a fourth consecutive week, down from the 68% order fulfillment performance seen in week 28.
This represents by far the worst performance of the year for CPKC, a mark they have now set in three consecutive weeks.
CPKC performance remains below the 90% performance threshold for a fourth consecutive week, and below the 80% threshold for a third straight week.
