CUT KNIFE — The Cut Knife RCMP received 54 calls for service between Feb. 23 and March 1.
These files included well-being checks, reports of disturbances, reports of traffic offences, mischiefs, assaults, assault with a weapon, abandoned vehicles, animal calls, breach of peace, failure to comply with orders, abandoned vehicles, theft of truck, operation while impaired, sexual assault, Mental Health Act, missing persons, Firearms Act, 911 Act, information files, and assisting another agencies and the public.
Notable files include:
On Feb. 23, RCMP received a report of a missing person on the Little Pine First Nation. The individual left the house in an unknown direction after a fight had occurred. The complainant was worried about their well-being and mental state. Members were able to locate the individual and ensured their safety.
On Feb. 24, members attended a complaint on the Poundmaker Cree Nation, regarding a suspicious item in a toilet. Investigation revealed it was just chicken bones.
On Feb. 27, RCMP received a complaint of a fight at the Cut Knife School. This matter is still under investigation.
On Feb. 27, RCMP received a report of a set of hockey gear being stolen from a vehicle that was parked in front of the Lucern Hotel/ bar.
In addition to calls received, 26 traffic stops were made, resulting in tickets, warnings, and impaired driving charges. Members attended to one Mental Health Act call.
