SASKATOON — Police are investigating after a civilian vehicle chase ended in a collision and assault on Thursday morning.
Shortly before 10 a.m. on March 5, officers were called to the 400 block of Whitney Avenue North for multiple reports of altercations between the occupants of two vehicles. Police say one vehicle had been chasing another before intentionally striking it on Whitney Avenue. An occupant then got out and assaulted the driver of the vehicle that had been hit.
Officers arrived to find the victim suffering from on-life-threatening injuries. The other vehicle fled before police reached the scene.
Investigators later learned the incident started with a confrontational exchange between two parties in the area of 22ndStreet West and Idylwyld Drive North. Police say the dispute escalated into a vehicle chase during which several uninvolved parked vehicles were struck and damaged.
The individuals involved are believed to be known to one another. Police continue to
