SASKATOON — A 35-year-old man is facing assault and firearms charges after police were called to a home on Avenue H North early Sunday.
Patrol officers were dispatched shortly before 3 a.m. on March 8 to a home in the 1200 block for a report of an assault. Police say officers entered the home and found the suspect attempting to destroy illicit drugs and ammunition. He was taken into custody and the Guns and Gangs Unit was brought in to assist.
Investigators later executed a search warrant at the home, seizing a KAHR CW9 9mm handgun, a prohibited magazine, ammunition, and a concealable holster.
The man is charged with assault causing bodily harm and six firearms-related offences. Police say the investigation is ongoing.
