OUTLOOK — The stage, or rather the ice, has been set for a league championship series in the Saskatchewan Junior Female Hockey League (SJFHL).
The league has only been around for a few years, but the action has proved to be immensely popular with fans at rinks all around this part of the province.
Now, after recent game results, those fans are fully aware of which two teams will be playing in a best-of-three game series for the league's SGEU Cup, formerly known as the Bourgault Cup.
It will be a rematch of last year's championship series, pitting the Regina Wild against the Outlook Ice Hawks. Regina earned its spot by defeating the Southwest CMX Impact in two games by scores of 10-0 and 5-2, while Outlook claimed its place by defeating the Saskatoon Prairie Blaze in two games, a 2-2 tie followed by a 5-2 win.
The Wild are looking to repeat as league champions, having captured the title last year when the team was known as the Junior Rebels, with Regina defeating Outlook.
Now, both teams are set for a championship series rematch that will be sure to pack rinks over the course of three possible games. The best-of-three will see Game One played in Regina, Game Two played in Outlook, and if necessary, the championship-deciding Game Three will be held back in Regina.
Dates and times for these games have not been released by the SJFHL yet.
