SASKATOON — Police are investigating two armed robberies that occurred within 30 minutes of each other Wednesday night and are believed to involve the same pair of suspects.
Saskatoon police officers were first called around 9 p.m. on March 18 to a business in the 2400 block of Preston Avenue South for a report of an attempted robbery. According to police, two people entered the store armed with bear spray and confronted an employee while demanding merchandise. A customer intervened, and the suspects fled empty-handed.
About half an hour later, at about 9:30 p.m., officers responded to another robbery at a business in the 1400 block of Central Avenue. Police say two people armed with bear spray entered the store, confronted the employee, and demanded merchandise. This time, the suspects made off with an undisclosed amount of product before fleeing.
No injuries were reported in either incident.
Police are continuing to investigate and say they believe that both incidents may be related.
