REGINA — Police are investigating after a man was stabbed during an altercation in Regina’s Prairie View area late Thursday evening.
At approximately 9:20 p.m. on March 19, police were called to a report of a weapons offence on Murphy Crescent. When officers arrived, they located a man suffering from a stab wound. He was taken to hospital by EMS with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.
The victim told police he was inside a residence when five males arrived and began knocking loudly on the door. He went outside and an altercation began. He told police that he was bear-sprayed and stabbed before the group fled the scene.
Officers arrested a 16-year-old male, who can’t be named due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with assault with a weapon.
The youth will make his first appearance on this charge in Regina Provincial Youth Court on May 6.
