REGINA — Regina police have closed an investigation into a potential threat directed at a high school in the Hillsdale neighbourhood after determining the report wasn’t credible.
Officers were alerted on Saturday evening, March 21, after receiving a third-party report about a potential threat to a Regina high school in the 2300 block of 25th Avenue. Officers immediately launched an investigation to assess the validity of the information.
Following a thorough review of the details, investigators determined there was no danger to students, staff or the facility.
To ensure a smooth start to the school week, and to provide support to the school community, school resource officers (SROs) from several other schools were on site Monday morning. Officers met with school administration prior to the start of classes to provide an update and officially conclude the file.
There were no interruptions to classes. The Regina Police Service takes all reports of potential threats to school safety seriously and works closely with local school boards to maintain a safe environment for all.
