SASKATOON — A 52-year-old man has been charged in connection with a sexual assault reported nearly 25 years ago after a recent DNA match linked him to the historical case.
Lambert Scott appeared in Saskatoon Provincial Court on March 25 and was remanded. He is scheduled back in court on April 2 for a bail hearing.
He is charged with sexual assault with a weapon, wearing a disguise during an offence, uttering threats to cause death, and mischief.
Saskatoon police were first called in September 2001 to a home in Caswell Hill, in the 800 block of Avenue E North, where a female youth reported she had been sexually assaulted. Investigators collected a sexual assault kit at the time, but no suspect was identified.
According to Saskatoon police, the case advanced in March 2026 when officers were notified that a DNA profiled from the 2001 kit had matched an individual in the national databank.
