PRINCE ALBERT — A 33-year-old man charged with assault and forcible confinement made a brief appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court on March 23. Edwin Corrigal was remanded and a bail hearing was set for March 31.
The charges stem from an incident after Prince Albert Police Service officers were dispatched around 3:27 p.m. on March 22 to the area of Knox Place for a report of a suspicious person. When they arrived, they found a man who told officers he had been assaulted and held against his will inside an apartment in Crescent Heights, in the 1000 block of Branion Drive. He also reported that a firearm was involved.
Police identified the apartment and arrested three people inside. Police say they recovered a modified firearm and ammunition during the investigation.
Corrigal was charged with 14 offences including assault with a weapon, forcible confinement, and numerous firearm-related offences.
