CODETTE — Nipawin RCMP are investigating after methamphetamine, fentanyl and a loaded handgun were found in a vehicle involved in a rollover.
On March 24, Nipawin RCMP received a report of a vehicle rollover near Codette.
Officers immediately responded.
The investigation determined a man and a woman were in the vehicle when it rolled. The man left the scene of the rollover.
The woman, who did not report injuries to police, was at the scene when officers arrived.
Officers located a sawed-off firearm, a loaded handgun, ammunition, approximately 14 grams of methamphetamine, approximately 15 grams of fentanyl and approximately 149 unknown pharmaceutical-style pills in the vehicle.
The woman was arrested.
As a result of the continued investigation, a 45-year-old woman is charged with:
- one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking (methamphetamine);
- one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking (fentanyl);
- one count of possession (fentanyl);
- two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm;
- one count of unauthorized possession of a prohibited device;
- two counts of unsafe storage of a firearm;
- three counts of possession of a firearm/ammunition in a motor vehicle;
- one count of unlicensed possession of a firearm with ammunition;
- one count of possession of a weapon obtained by crime; and
- one count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
She is scheduled to appear in Nipawin Provincial Court on April 2.
Nipawin RCMP continue to investigate, including efforts to locate the man who left the scene of the rollover.
