REGINA — Police have charged a 28-year-old man with six charges, including vehicle theft and fleeing police.
On April 8, around 1 p.m., police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle in the 3600 block of East Haughton Road.
Using updated location information, officers located a vehicle matching the description heading north on Woodland Grove. They attempted to pull it over, but the driver did not stop, say police.
A short time later, the vehicle was seen travelling east on Arcola Avenue, where it pulled over. Police say the driver got out and tried to run, but was arrested without incident around 1:30 p.m.
The arrested man has been charged with:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000;
- Impaired Operation of a Conveyance by Alcohol or a Drug or Combination;
- Exceeds 80 mg of Alcohol within 2 Hours of Operating Conveyance;
- Theft of Motor Vehicle;
- Flight from Peace Officer; and
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order [CC 733.1(1)].
He will make his first appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Court on April 29.
