REGINA — A 27-year-old man is facing multiple charges following an alleged weapons incident in Regina on Thursday evening.
Police were dispatched at approximately 6:10 p.m. to the 1300 block of Robinson Street after receiving a report of a weapons offence involving a firearm.
According to police, a complainant reported that an unknown man was at their back door and appeared to be attempting to enter the residence. When confronted, the man allegedly threatened the resident with a weapon.
Officers were told the suspect was travelling northbound in an alley east of Retallack Street. Police later located two individuals on foot in the 1200 block of Rae Street and issued verbal commands. Both individuals complied.
Following further investigation, one individual was determined not to be involved and was released at the scene.
A male suspect was arrested without incident at approximately 6:50 p.m. Police say a rifle receiver and a knife were seized following the arrest.
A 27 year old is charged with assault with a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon and failing to comply with a probation order.
He made his first appearance on the charges in Regina provincial court on April 10.
