REGINA — Two people are facing charges following a break and enter in Regina that left two individuals injured.
Police said officers were dispatched at approximately 4:15 a.m. on April 2 to the 3500 block of Dewdney Avenue after receiving a report of a break-in.
Upon arrival, officers located two individuals who had sustained head injuries. Both were assessed and treated at the scene by EMS and transported to hospital.
A short time later, police located a suspect in a vehicle in the area of 1st Avenue North and Edward Street who matched the description provided earlier. The individual was found to be in possession of a firearm and was taken into custody without incident at approximately 5:10 a.m.
Police said a subsequent search resulted in the seizure of a sawed-off shotgun and ammunition.
On April 9 at approximately 5:25 p.m., a second suspect was located entering a business in the 900 block of Albert Street and was arrested without incident.
A 35-year-old man is charged with break and enter, assault with a weapon, armed robbery using a restricted or prohibited firearm, possession of a weapon, possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, and two counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order.
A 29-year-old woman is charged with break and enter, assault with a weapon, armed robbery using a restricted or prohibited firearm, and failing to comply with a release order.
Police said both accused have made their first court appearances. The investigation is ongoing.
