PRINCE ALBERT — A 22-year-old woman is in custody and facing numerous charges following two incidents earlier this month, including an attack on a teenager and an altercation that sent a man to hospital.
Rynell Kayleen McGillivary has a bail hearing scheduled in Prince Albert Provincial Court on April 13.
According to Prince Albert Police Service, the first incident happened on April 1 just before 9:40 a.m., in the Midtown neighbourhood, in the 100 block of 14th Street East. A 16-year-old girl reported that while she was waiting at a transit location, a woman approached her, became confrontational, and struck her in the face before fleeing. The teenager sustained minor injuries.
Investigators later linked that assault to the same woman arrested in connection with a second incident on April 9.
At about 7:47 p.m. that evening, officers were called to a business in the the East Flat neighbourhood, in the 800 block of 15th Street East, for a disturbance involving an unwanted person. According to police, the woman had returned to the location, refused to leave, and became involved in a physical altercation with security personnel and members of the public.
Officers located and arrested McGillivary at the scene. Further investigation revealed that she had assaulted a 34-year-old man inside the business. The victim suffered injuries and was taken to hospital for assessment.
As a result of the April 9 incident, McGillivary was charged with assault, failing to comply with a release order, breach of probation, and breach of a conditional sentence order.
From the April 1 transit stop assault, she faces additional charges of assault, failing to comply with a release order, breach of probation, and breach of a conditional sentence.
