REGINA — Two Regina doctors have been accused of unprofessional conduct, according to the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS).
According to the CPSS case-in-process list, Regina physician Dr. Elias Oluma has been charged with unprofessional conduct for failing to provide privacy to a patient during a clinical examination and for attempting to contact the patient after the individual filed a complaint with the CPSS.
Another Regina doctor, Jamshid Khak, was has been charged with unprofessional conduct for performing surgery in a clinic that had not been approved as a non-hospital treatment facility and in a manner which did not meet the standards of practice of the medical profession.
Allegations of unprofessional conduct have been referred to the discipline committee. The allegations in the charge have not been admitted, nor has there been a hearing before the discipline committee to determine whether the allegations in the charge will be proved.
A physician who denies some or all of the allegations in a charge is entitled to a hearing before the discipline committee to determine if the allegations in the charge are established by the evidence at the hearing.
Both cases were submitted in March and will be reviewed by the CPSS council.
