SOUTHERN SASKATCHEWAN — A wind warning was in effect in southern Saskatchewan for the second straight day on April 23.
Environment Canada initially issued a warning for southwest Saskatchewan, and it grew to include the cities of Regina and Moose Jaw, along with communities in 123 RMs. Regina, Moose Jaw and most RMs were later dropped from the alert, and the warning wrapped up in the evening of April 23.
Wind gusts of 90-100 kilometres per hour were expected on April 23, the warning stated.
The warning is one of several currently in effect in Saskatchewan due to a powerful storm sweeping through the province. The storm has also caused travel not recommended advisories and highway closures in south-central Saskatchewan.
