NORQUAY – Kamsack RCMP have charged a male teenager for possession of a dangerous weapon.
Kamsack RCMP charged a male teenager after an imitation firearm was seized at a school in Norquay.
On April 22 at approximately 12:45 p.m., Kamsack RCMP received a report of a male teenager with a firearm at a business in Norquay. The male teenager was last seen walking towards the school in Norquay.
Kamsack RCMP immediately responded and notified the school. The school enacted its lock down procedures. As a result of investigation, a male teenager was arrested inside the school. Officers located and seized an imitation firearm that the male teenager had in his possession.
No students or staff at the school were threatened by the male or injured in relation to this investigation.
The male teenager has been charged with one count, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Police say they are unable to identify the male teenager as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
The teenager is scheduled to appear in court in Kamsack on June 23.
