SASKATOON — Saskatoon police have confirmed that a death in the city’s west end is now being investigated as the city’s fifth homicide of 2026.
Saskatoon Police Service Major Crime is leading the investigation after a person was found injured and unresponsive inside an apartment in the 1100 block of Avenue W North on the night of April 15. Officers were called to the building shortly after 8:30 p.m., where they attempted life-saving measures. Medical personnel later declared the individual deceased.
Members of the Major Crime and Forensic Identification Sections were called to the scene and are continuing to investigate.
Major Crimes Section is also investigating what the SPS calls the city's sixth homicide of 2026 that occurred at around 10:54 p.m. on April 24.
