SASKATOON — Musicians and performers are now invited to apply for this year’s Doylefest, starting on May 3 for the 12th edition set for September.
Doylefest organizers are ramping up their preparations for the music festival, which will take place Sept. 11-13 at Eagle Creek Regional Park in Asquith.
The festival has grown into a staple of Saskatchewan’s grassroots arts scene, blending live music with a strong sense of community and collaboration.
Doylefest organizers said in a statement that artists and performers have built the annual music event into what it is today.
“It’s a weekend of music, community, and the cozy magic that happens when people come together to create something meaningful,” said the statement.
The event is both a celebration of music and a fundraiser for the province’s Community Arts Mentorship Program. The money raised has helped thousands of students have access to arts programming.
Participating artists donate their time and talent to support arts programming in northern, remote, and rural communities.
Organizers say that the spirit of generosity is what sets the festival apart, helping expand access to creative opportunities in areas where arts resources can be limited.
Performers can apply on the festival’s website. Organizers are also encouraging community members and past participants to spread the word through social media and online platforms.
