REGINA — SaskPower is making a major investment in downtown Regina.
The energy company will contribute $9 million towards the city’s electrical system.
From May through October, SaskPower will install and maintain underground equipment, as well as install and replace underground power lines.
This work is part of a multi-year $50 million investment from the company for overall system improvements.
“This work will help to ensure business and residential customers in the heart of our province’s capital and second-largest city will have the power they need when they need it for years to come,” said Rupen Pandya, SaskPower president and CEO.
Work on the project will take place along downtown streets, sidewalks and alleys.
SaskPower says it will work to limit disruptions to the public.
