SASKATOON — A 40-year-old man is facing several charges after Saskatoon police say he was found riding a bicycle with an open bottle of alcohol and a can of bear spray hidden in his waistband.
Shortly after 10 a.m., May 2, officers on patrol in the City Park neighbourhood in the area of 3rd Avenue North and 25th Street East, observed a man holding an open bottle of alcohol while riding a bicycle. While he was being taken into custody for public intoxication, officers found him to be concealing a can of bear spray in his waistband.
He was charged with possession of a dangerous weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, and obstruction. He was also ticketed for having open liquor in a public place.
