PELICAN NARROWS – Pelican Narrows RCMP are investigating a shooting that resulted in two men being injured.
On May 2 at around 5 a.m., Pelican Narrows RCMP received multiple reports of a firearm being discharged outside a residence on Highway 135 in Pelican Narrows. Two individuals were reported as injured.
Officers immediately responded. The investigation determined that multiple individuals riding two ATVs approached a group of people outside a residence on Highway 135. At least one of the individuals on the ATVs was armed with a firearm and discharged it towards the group near the residence. The individuals on the ATVs then left the scene.
As a result of the firearm discharge, two men were injured. Both men attended hospital with injuries described as serious, but non-life-threatening, in nature.
It was reported to Pelican Narrows RCMP that one of the ATVs was red in colour, and the other ATV was green with a camouflage pattern. The individuals riding the ATVs were wearing dark-coloured clothing and face coverings at the time of the incident.
Pelican Narrows RCMP continue to investigate. If an imminent risk to public safety is identified, police say they will notify the public.
