REGINA — A Moose Jaw man is facing several firearms-related charges after police responded to a late-night call about a gun inside a vehicle in the Glencairn area early Saturday morning.
Shortly after midnight on May 2, officers were dispatched to a parking lot in the1700 block of Prince of Wales Drive following a report that a firearm had been spotted in a vehicle.
When police arrived, they located the vehicle in question and arrested the drive. A barrel of a shotgun was observed on the backseat. A search of the vehicle turned up all components of a disassembled shotgun. Ammunition for the firearm was located on the front seat.
The firearm and ammunition were seized and a 27-year-old man was charged with possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order, possession of a firearm knowing its possession was unauthorized, and unauthorized possession of a prohibited device or ammunition in a vehicle.
He appeared in Regina Provincial Court on May 4.
