The Regina Thunder are adding a familiar name to their coaching staff, announcing the hiring of De Shawn Le Jour as the team’s new receivers coach.
A product of F.W. Johnson Collegiate, Le Jour’s football journey has come full circle. He suited up for the Thunder from 2018 to 2020, taking the junior route before breaking out as a CJFL All-Canadian in 2021.
Le Jour went on to spend four seasons with the Manitoba Bisons, continuing to develop as both a player and leader. His strong play earned him an invitation to the CFL Invitational Combine this past season, putting him on the radar at the next level.
In addition to his work on the field, Le Jour also competed for two seasons with the University of Manitoba track team, showcasing his athletic versatility.
Described as a natural leader since his rookie year, Le Jour now transitions into coaching, where he’ll take over a receivers group expected to be one of the Thunder’s strengths this season.
The hire brings a mix of local roots, recent playing experience, and leadership to a Regina program looking to build on its offensive firepower.
