SASKATOON — A 40-year-old woman is in custody following a break-and-enter that saw a group of suspects armed with a machete threaten occupants of a home in Mount Royal area Thursday afternoon.
At around 1:45 p.m. on May 7, police were called to a residence in the 700 block of Weldon Avenue for a report of an unknown problem. Further information indicated that a group of people had entered the residence armed with a machete, threatened the occupants, and attempted to steal multiple items.
Through investigation, officers determined that, during the break and enter, a struggle had occurred between the suspects and one of the victims resulting in the victim obtaining the machete and chasing all but one of the suspects away. The remaining suspect was arrested without further incident upon police arrival.
