THUNDERCHILD FIRST NATION — Three people are facing multiple charges after Meadow Lake RCMP located a stolen vehicle and seized drugs, weapons and an imitation firearm during a traffic stop on Thunderchild First Nation.
RCMP said the incident happened May 11 at about 5:45 p.m., when Meadow Lake RCMP Combined Traffic Services Saskatchewan officers noticed an SUV matching the description of a stolen vehicle and initiated a traffic stop.
Police determined the SUV had been stolen and arrested the vehicle’s three occupants.
During a subsequent search of the SUV, officers located and seized 94 grams of methamphetamine, 11 grams of cocaine, drug trafficking paraphernalia, an imitation firearm and other weapons.
A 26-year-old woman, a 35-year-old man and a 27-year-old man, all from Thunderchild First Nation, have each been charged with possession of an imitation firearm in the commission of an offence, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and methamphetamine.
The 26-year-old woman also faces additional charges of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and two counts of failing to comply with conditions.
The accused appeared in Onion Lake Provincial Court on May 13.
