The Saskatchewan Roughriders have added another Canadian defensive back to their roster.
The club announced Thursday it has signed Winnipeg product Trae Tomlinson.
Tomlinson spent the 2025 season at Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns, appearing in 11 games and recording 26 defensive tackles, one tackle for loss, one sack and one pass deflection.
Before transferring to Louisiana Lafayette, the 5-foot-8, 183-pound defensive back played three seasons with the Richmond Spiders. Over 38 games with Richmond, he started 26 contests and totalled 90 defensive tackles, three tackles for loss, one interception, 14 pass deflections, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.
Tomlinson also put together an impressive showing at Louisiana’s pro day, posting a 4.47-second 40-yard dash, a 36-inch vertical jump and a 10-foot-2 broad jump.
The Roughriders also announced American receiver Tyrie Cleveland has been moved to the retired list, while American receiver Juwann Winfree has been re-signed by the club.
