PRINCE ALBERT — A robbery involving a firearm has resulted in two arrests and the seizure of drugs, weapons, and evidence of drug trafficking following a search by Prince Albert Police Service.
Police say they received a report on May 9 at 3 p.m. of a robbery at a home in the 1300 block of 7th Street East. The 28-year-old victim was confronted by a group of suspects that were known to him. Shots were fired during the robbery, and a cell phone was taken. No one was injured.
On May 11, at 6 p.m., members of the Crime Reduction Team, Emergency Response Team, Forensic Identification Section, and Patrol Division served a search warrant on the residence where the offence occurred in the 1300 block of 7th Street East. The search warrant resulted in the seizure of a firearm, cocaine, cell phones, and evidence of drug trafficking.
A 29-year-old man has been charged with robbery with a firearm, unsafe storage of a firearm, and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. A 39-year-old man was. Charged with robbery with a firearm.
They both appeared in Prince Albert Provincial Court on May 12.
