BIG RIVER — Big River conservation officers are asking for the public's assistance after discovered 26 northern pike left to waste along a creek flowing into Hackett Lake, off of Revo Lake Road.
According to a message on the Sasktip Facebook page, the fish appear to have been illegally snared during spawning and left on shore with no meat taken. There was no open fishing season at this time. Officers believe that this violation occurred between May 8 and 12.
A cash reward of up to $2,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest or conviction of the individual(s) involved. Anyone with information about this violation is asked to contact the provincial toll-free Turn-In-Poachers and Polluters line at 1-800-667-7561.
