SASKATOON — Saskatoon Police Service Guns and Gangs Unit is investigating two separate incidents over the long weekend where shots were fired at occupied homes.
At approximately 6:50 a.m., May 16, police received reports that an unknown male was witnessed firing a gun at the front of a home in the 2500 block of Melrose Avenue. The male was driving a dark car. A second vehicle, a minivan, was then witnessed driving up to the scene before both vehicles sped away.
No one was injured during the incident.
At approximately 2 a.m., May 18, police were called to a home in the 100 block of Gladmer Crescent. The occupant reported that several people were attempting to break into his home.
When officers arrived, they found that no one inside had been injured but several bullets had been fired at the home and the front door had been broken down.
According to SPS, it’s not believed at this time that the incidents are related.
