REGINA — Police have charged four people following a robbery earlier this month that began with the victim being picked up by two women he knew and ended with his vehicle’s window smashed and thousands of dollars stolen.
On May 9, at approximately 10:20 a.m., police were dispatched to a residence in North Central neighbourhood in the 1700 block of John Street for a report of a robbery.
Officers arrived on scene and located the victim. Investigation determined the victim, a man, was picked up from a business in the 1800 block of Saskatchewan Drive by two woman. The suspects were known to the victim. The group drove to a residence on the 1700 block of St. John Street. Before exiting the vehicle, the victim placed approximately $5,000 inside the centre console.
The three then went into the residence. A short time later, two men confronted the victim, demanded money and threatened violence if he attempted to leave.
Following the confrontation, the victim returned to the vehicle and discovered the driver-side window had been smashed and the cash stolen.
Through the course of the investigation, police identified four suspects believed to be involved in the incident. On May 11, a male and female suspect were arrested without incident. On May 13, a second female suspect was located and arrested
On May 23, Regina police investigators, with the assistance of the Aerial Support Unit arrested a fourth suspect, a 24-year-old woman, following a traffic stop.
