REGINA — A 28-year-old Regina man wanted by police on an attempted murder charge appeared in Regina Provincial Court on May 28.
Braiden Shade Hotomani was remanded, and his matter was adjourned to June 4 to allow him time to retain legal counsel.
On Dec. 29, 2025, Regina Police Service posted his photo on their website, saying he was wanted for attempted murder but didn’t provide additional details at that time.
Hotomani was later arrested by Carlyle RCMP after they received a report around 5:50 p.m. on May 24 that a man had been forcibly confined, threatened with a firearm and repeatedly assaulted at a home on White Bear First Nation. Police say the victim was able to escape and was treated at the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
During a search of the residence where Hotomani was arrested, police say they found an axe and a handgun. He has since been charged with 10 firearms related offences, as well as forcible confinement, assault causing bodily harm, break and enter, and uttering threats.
