REGINA — A 47-year-old man was arrested after Regina police responded to a report of someone waving a gun near a busy Regina intersection.
On May 29, at approximately 5:45 a.m., police were called to the intersection of Victoria Avenue and Broad Street in the Centre Square neighbourhood for a report of a male waving a firearm. Officers arrived moments later and located the suspect. He was arrested without incident. During a search, officers located a 9 mm handgun tucked into the suspect’s waist band.
Eric Standing, 47, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, pointing a firearm, careless use of a firearm, and possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized.
He appeared in Regina Provincial Court on May 29.
