REGINA — The University of Regina (U of R) stacks roughly in the middle of average salaries for teaching staff among Canadian post-secondary schools.
Data from Statistics Canada ranks the University of Regina no. 36 out of 57 for average salaries for 2025/2026, as the U of R staff have an average salary of $151,450.
The three highest median salaries on the list are the University of British Columbia ($208,700), Queen’s University ($204,300), and York University ($198,875)
The University of British Columbia itself ranks in the top 50 of post-secondary schools globally, according to a recent report.
As for its competitor in Saskatoon, the University of Saskatchewan sits on the higher end of the list, no. 14, with an average salary of 181,200 (excluding medical and dental).
Beyond the median salary, Statistics Canada also recorded the average salary for genders at the U of R.
For 2025/2026, men received an average of $157,725, while women sat at an average of $144,725.
For staffing, the U of R employed 267 men and 240 women.
Overall, average salaries at the U of R have decreased by roughly $2,000 between 2024/2025 and 2025/2026.
