REGINA — Regina’s Wascana Centre offers a wide array of summertime activities.
Boat tours of Wascana Lake are a relaxing way to enjoy some time on the water while taking in the scenery. It is easier than ever to book a spot with the new online tool. Watch Facebook and Instagram for $5 boat tour announcements throughout July and August.
Picnic on the Island is back on Sundays throughout July and August. Take a boat over to Willow Island between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. to have a picnic, play some games and even roast some marshmallows (do not forget to bring them) over a fire.
Are you a garden lover? Join the horticulture team for the fern-favourite tours of the Queen Elizabeth II gardens on Saturdays in June and July. Of course, a green thumb is not needed to appreciate all the hard work that goes into planting and caring for the gardens every summer.
Wascana Wonders programming returns this summer for children ages four to 12. Sign up online for Saturday sessions on forestry, horticulture, Wascana Lake, the habitat conservation area and more. Wascana Wonders runs throughout July and August.
Oskana Days return to the park this summer in collaboration with Nature Saskatchewan and the Royal Saskatchewan Museum. On July 11 and Aug. 8, celebrate Indigenous cultures through a hide tanning demonstration, Indigenous games, a discovery table and more.
Information on these programs and more can be found at: wascana.ca.
