REGINA — Regina’s outdoor pools are set to open for the summer season beginning June 9.
Wascana Pool will open first on June 9, followed by Buffalo Meadows, Maple Leaf, Massey and Regent pools on June 11.
The City of Regina noted that opening dates may change depending on weather conditions.
“Outdoor pools have something for everyone — swimming lessons, leisure swims and dedicated swim times for preschoolers, teens and families,” said Diana Burton, director of recreation and cultural services.
Returning this summer are several popular programs, including Family Swim, Toonie Teen Swim, Adapted Leisure Swim and swimming lessons for all ages.
Wascana Pool will also host a series of special events throughout August.
Late-night swim events are scheduled for Aug. 6 and Aug. 13, while Glow Night will take place Aug. 20 and Movie Night is planned for Aug. 27.
The city said details about special events are available through the Leisure Guide and on its website.
Paid parking is available near Wascana Pool during daytime hours. Parking is free in the evenings and on weekends.
Residents can find updates on pool openings and weather-related changes through the City of Regina’s website and social media channels.
