SASKATOON — Two men have been arrested and charged after a downstairs tenant was injured during an altercation inside a south-central Saskatoon home.
On June 7, at approximately 1:10 a.m., officers were called to a residence in the 700 block of Hilliard Street for a report of an unknown problem. Initial information to police indicated there was an intruder in the home with a golf club. Further updates clarified that the intruder was the downstairs tenant and that he was injured.
Police arrived on scene and found the tenant on the front lawn with serious but later determined to be non-life-threatening injuries. He was taken to hospital by paramedics for further medical treatment.
Through their investigation, police say the tenant had reportedly entered the residence with a golf club, and a physical altercation occurred between him and the two men already inside the home. The men are believed to be known to each other.
A 56-year-old man and 33-year-old man were arrested at the scene and charged with aggravated assault. The 56-year-old has also been charged with careless storage of a firearm.
