SASKATOON — A 17-year-old male is facing charges after Saskatoon police say he assaulted to officers during an arrest connected to a mischief investigation on Saturday night.
On June 6, at approximately 9:25 p.m., officers arrested the youth in the 800 block of Confederation Drive. Police say he matched the description of a suspect in a break and enter and mischief incident moments prior where it was reported that a male was climbing up a balcony.
The male resisted arrest, and while officers attempted to place him in the patrol car, he kicked a police officer. A further search of his person resulted in police locating a cannister of bear spray.
Officers also attended the scene of the mischief incident where several flower pots were observed to have been broken and pushed off a balcony.
As a result of this incident, the 17-year-old male youth has been charged with two counts of assaulting a peace officer, possession of a weapon and carrying a concealed weapon.
