HALBRITE — Update, June 12: On June 11 at approximately 2:25 p.m., Weyburn RCMP received a report of a motor vehicle collision between a car and a semi-truck on Highway 39, northwest of Halbrite.
Officers responded along with local fire and EMS. The sole occupant of the car was declared deceased by EMS at the scene. He has been identified as a 31-year-old man, from Regina. His family has been notified.
The driver of the semi-truck reported no physical injuries to police.
Weyburn RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.

As this investigation is in preliminary stages, police say they do not have additional details to share at this time.
The highway is currently closed for an undetermined amount of time. Detours are in place and motorists should expect delays in the area. Please slow down and follow the instructions of emergency personnel on the scene.
