PRINCE ALBERT — Police have arrested and charged two men following an early morning robbery that led investigators back to the same home on the city’s east side, where they later seized a firearm, cocaine, and evidence of drug trafficking.
On May 9, at 3 p.m. police received a report of a robbery with a firearm. The initial information was that the offence occurred 12 hours earlier at approximately 3 a.m. the same day, at a residence in the 1300 block of 7th Street East.
The 28-year-old male victim was confronted by a group of suspects that were known to him. Shots were fired during the robbery, and a cell phone was taken. No one was injured.
On May 11, at 6 p.m. members of the Crime Reduction Team, Emergency Response Team, Forensic Identification Section, and Patrol Division executed a search warrant on the home where the offence occurred in the 1300 block of 7th Street East. The search warrant resulted in the seizure of a firearm, cocaine, cell phones, and evidence of drug trafficking.
As a result of the investigation, a 29-year-old man has been charged with robbery with a firearm, unsafe storage of a firearm, and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. A 39-year-old man has been charged with robbery with a firearm. They made their first court appearance on May 12.
