Regina Red Sox 0, Swift Current 57's 9
The Swift Current 57's broke open a scoreless game with a pair of runs in the sixth inning before erupting for five more in the seventh on their way to a 9-0 victory over the Regina Red Sox Monday night at Mitchell Field.
Hudson Unger highlighted the seventh-inning outburst with a two-run double, while Jake Steffes went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Chance Crawford also chipped in with a pair of hits as the 57's improved to 3-10 on the season.
On the mound, Sam Honke tossed six scoreless innings, allowing just three hits while striking out five. Koufax Cranmer closed out the final three innings to complete the shutout.
Will Togher and Justin Simard each collected two hits for Regina, which dropped its third straight game.
The 57's return to action Wednesday in Moose Jaw against the Miller Express, while the Red Sox host the league-leading Saskatoon Berries at Currie Field.
Elsewhere in the WCBL, the Okotoks Dawgs blasted six home runs and built a 19-1 lead after three innings en route to a 28-4 win over the Brooks Bombers.
