Saskatchewan Roughriders quarterback Trevor Harris has been named the CFL’s Week 2 Player of the Week after delivering one of the most efficient passing performances of his career in the Green and White’s 31-27 season-opening victory over the B.C. Lions.
The weekly honour recognizes standout performances across the league, highlighting exceptional statistics, pivotal moments and game-changing efforts. Winners are selected by a panel consisting of representatives from the CFL’s Football Operations, Player and Game Statistics, and Content departments.
Harris put together a near-flawless outing in leading Saskatchewan to its opening-week win at Mosaic Stadium.
The veteran pivot completed 30 of 36 pass attempts, finishing at an impressive 83 percent completion rate while throwing for 417 yards and three touchdowns. He posted a 147.6 efficiency rating and recorded his 10th career game with more than 400 passing yards.
The performance also marked the 25th time in Harris’ CFL career that he has thrown three touchdown passes in a game and the sixth occasion he’s done it in a season opener.
Harris consistently stretched the field against the Lions’ defence, completing three passes of 30 yards or more. The biggest came in the fourth quarter when he connected with Kian Schaffer-Baker on a 52-yard strike that helped fuel Saskatchewan’s push to the finish line.
The Roughriders’ offence showed balance and explosiveness throughout the night, but Harris’ command of the game and efficiency through the air proved to be the difference in securing the victory.
Harris joins Edmonton running back Justin Rankin, Montreal receiver Robert Kennedy III and Winnipeg defensive lineman Jake Ceresna as Players of the Week recipients through the first two weeks of the 2026 season.
Also earning Week 2 recognition were Montreal Alouettes receiver Tyson Philpot and quarterback Davis Alexander after helping lead Montreal to a 37-30 win over Toronto.
For Saskatchewan, the recognition adds another milestone to an already strong start and reinforces the early-season momentum as the Roughriders look to build on their opening victory.
