Our next icon hails from Ceylon, Saskatchewan. Perry Nyhus first joined CKRM in 1984 and is the longest-serving employee in the history of Harvard Media.
Perry reflects on his childhood memories of radio and shares the remarkable journey that took him from small-town Saskatchewan to Estevan, then Saskatoon, and ultimately Regina. Listeners may be surprised to learn a career in broadcasting was never part of his original plan, and to hear the story of how he found himself behind the microphone.
Perry also reveals why he chose to step away from a successful 27-year on-air career to pursue the business side of broadcasting. That decision proved to be another success story, as he quickly became Harvard Media’s top salesperson, a distinction he has held for more than 15 years. Join us as we celebrate the career, contributions, and lasting impact of 620 CKRM’s latest icon.
