LLOYDMINSTER, Alta., — Two Edmonton men are facing multiple drug-trafficking charges after Saskatchewan RCMP seized cash and a large quantity of drugs during a hotel room search.
On June 11, Lloydminster Saskatchewan RCMP Trafficking Response Team (STRT) as part of an ongoing investigation executed a search warrant at a room in a hotel on 50th Avenue in Lloydminster. During a search of the hotel room, officers located and seized $40,000 in cash, 6.182 litres of gamma hydroxybutyrate, 243 grams of fentanyl, 233 grams of cocaine, and 725 grams of methamphetamine.
Police arrested 23-year-old Yuvraj Dhillon and 20-year-old Sukhman Singh and charged them with four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, methamphetamine, fentanyl, and gamma hydroxybutyrate, along with possession of property valued over $5,000 obtained by crime.
Dhillon and Singh are scheduled to appear in Lloydminster Court of Justice in Alberta on Aug. 11.
“This seizure represents a significant disruption to the illicit drug trade in Lloydminster and area,” said Sgt. Aaron Gervais with the Saskatchewan RCMP’s Lloydminster STRT. “By removing these dangerous substances, and the financial incentives behind them, we are directly investing in community prevention and safety.”
