SANDY BAY — Sandy Bay RCMP are working to locate a man wanted for charges of attempted murder.
Sandy Bay RCMP are asking the public for help in locating 36-year-old Eric Scott Merasty.
On June 18 at approximately 4:15 a.m., Sandy Bay RCMP located an injured individual at a residence on Churchill Crescent in Sandy Bay.
The investigation determined a male forcibly entered the residence and assaulted an adult victim inside. The male later left the property. The victim was transported to hospital by EMS with injuries described as serious in nature.
As a result of the continued investigation, 36-year-old Eric Scott Merasty, from Sandy Bay, is charged with:
- one count, attempted murder without firearm;
- one count, aggravated assault; and
- one count, breaking, entering, and committing – residence.
A warrant has been issued for Merasty’s arrest. Sandy Bay RCMP work to locate Merasty and ask members of the public to report sightings and information on his whereabouts.
Merasty is described as:
- Height: 5’10”
- Weight: 160 lbs
- Eye colour: brown
- Hair colour/style: black
He commonly goes by the name “Scott”.
