The Saskatoon Berries won their third straight game Tuesday night, rallying for a 10-6 extra-inning victory over the Medicine Hat Mavericks at Athletic Park.
The teams were tied 3-3 after six innings before Medicine Hat grabbed a 5-3 lead in the seventh on a wild pitch and a solo home run from Frankie Giacalone.
Saskatoon answered in the ninth, tying the game before taking a brief 6-5 lead. The Mavericks forced extra innings when Josh Stark scored on consecutive wild pitches in the bottom of the ninth.
The Berries put the game away in the 10th, scoring four runs, highlighted by a three-run homer from Ethan Murdoch. Saskatoon and Medicine Hat meet again Wednesday night.
Elsewhere, the Sylvan Lake Gulls erupted for 10 runs in the eighth inning and cruised to a 14-2 win over the Swift Current 57's. Coleman Parry homered and drove in three runs, while Maddox Shaver, Joey Marino, Johnboy Rittenhouse and Rece Schuerman each had two hits.
In Moose Jaw, the Miller Express built a 9-2 lead over the Regina Red Sox before rain halted the game after four innings. William Edwards and Michael Rago each had two hits for Moose Jaw. The game will be completed as part of a doubleheader on July 7.
The Okotoks Dawgs also defeated the Brooks Bombers 7-5.
Wednesday's schedule sees Regina visit Weyburn, Saskatoon return to Medicine Hat, Sylvan Lake remain in Swift Current, Energy City travel to Brooks, and Okotoks head to Fort McMurray.
